The Stronger Communities Partnership is a multi agency group whose role is to:-

• ensure that the third sector is effectively engaged at strategic levels and advocate for the continued development of community infrastructure;
• that members of the Partnership provide consistent leadership and advocacy on the principles of community engagement and empowerment;
• ensure that all partnerships and partner organisations are community focussed and use effective mechanisms to engage and involve local communities;
• provide challenge to and disseminate learning and best practice across other thematic partnerships and partner organisations;
• provide oversight and leadership on how resources can be shared to help build capacity and ensure effective ways of engaging and empowering the community are supported and facilitated.
  

The work of Stronger Communities Partnership Board supports the Lewisham Sustainable Communities Strategy Priority:
Empowered and responsible – where people are actively involved in their local area and contribute to supportive communities.

• The Partnership has the following terms of reference
• Strengthen the relationship between VCS and statutory agencies in particular through the involvement of VCS networks in partnership boards
• Ensure diverse engagement with local and strategic levels of decision making
• Increase levels of community participation
• In addition to the three objectives outlined above a further objective around Community Cohesion is being developed.

• Achievement in delivering on the stronger communities strategy priority outcomes.
• Achievement of the LAA targets
