Lewisham is one of thirteen pilot areas participating in the Total Place initiative, which looks at how a 'whole area' approach to delivering public services can lead to better services at a lower cost. Public and voluntary sector organisations in Lewisham have a strong history of working together, and participating in Total Place has provided an opportunity to redouble our efforts to improve collaboration and achieve better outcomes for our citizens.
The Lewisham Strategic Partnership has overseen Lewisham's Total Place pilot, which has focused on four themes:
- Offender management and minimisation of harm
- Worklessness and unemployment
- Health and social care
- Assets and energy
Our submission to the Government is linked to this page. However, our report does not signal the end of Total Place in Lewisham - we will continue to strive to implement our recommendations and develop new ways of working together, both at a local level and in partnership with central government.
